About Mika Fryling

I live in Burnaby, BC, with my wonderful husband, our amazing son and our spirited Shiba Inu. I have a BA in English and MEd in Workplace & Adult Learning. My interests include reading, writing, fitness, food, wine and travel.

Although blogging about “cookbook to kitchen” is hardly a new idea, I think it might be fun. It’ll give me an opportunity to become a better, more adventurous cook and may even prove to be a good creative outlet. I hope to create some special meals and as Oprah suggests in the book’s introduction, “enjoy the occasional glass of champagne for no particular reason.”

Please join me as I work my way through The Oprah Magazine Cookbook–175 delicious-looking recipes, 1 dish at a time. Happy feasting!

Hi Mika…………………..just happened to type in Harolyn’s name in Google and was very surprised to see your columns! Your husband Chad and my daughter Kelly were little best friends (like glue!) til they were about 6 yrs. old! Harolyn was a very good friend of mine and a neighbor as well . We had some very fun times, and I often wondered if she was still in Mayne Island.
My name was Gail Archibald……………………..since remarried and living in Vernon BC……………..now Gail Carey.
I would love to get Harolyn’s email addr. and get in touch after……about …..30years??………….
You sound like a very ambitious and hard working gal!
Kelly lives in Creston, BC, and Chris in Nelson BC
I must try some of your recipes, as well. Looks good.
Cheers, Gail Carey Hello to all the Frylings!
